Elaine Greene: Standing here today it is still surreal. Everyday since June 21st, 2007 is surreal. But what is real is the loss....
We want to thank all of you for your continued love and support. Many of you and your friends want to know how we are doing?
Our hearts are broken, the loss is real and the pain is raw. But what I do pray is that one day the beautiful memories of Michael will rise above the pain. I remember waking Michael up in the mornings to go to school. I'd wake him several times - he always wanted 5 more minutes. Sometimes he would be grumpy - but once his feet hit the ground he LIVED each day -with enthusiasm, joy, humor and the smile.
It is now up to us to live for Michael. Live everyday and as we go through the next phases of our lives, careers, marriages, children or even our own retirement - whatever. Do it with the enthusiasm, humor and joy!
Know that Michael is with you - SMILING.
For me Michael is in every breath, every heartbeat, everyday. It is a privileged and a joy to be Michael's mom.
